Why
Proofreading?
The more effectively you use words, the better you communicate.
C ommunicate to your customers that you are professional. Poor grammar
cripples the performance of a website. Copy that contains spelling errors,
poor punctuation and awkward sentence structure restricts the smooth flow
of reading and can ultimately result in the loss of a customer.
Why Proofreading?
Don't ruin your credibility with misspelt words or seemingly minor grammatical
errors when they can be easily prevented. Send your copy to e6s and assure
yourself that your customers will be presented with perfect text.
We assure 100% accurate proofreading. Your words will be examined for
flaws and delivered back to you on time and on budget.
By ensuring these areas are flawless, you have the highest chance of communicating
to customers that you are professional.
• Spelling errors
• Grammatical errors
• Punctuation errors
• Consistency (fonts, spacing, usage of bold, italics, underline
etc.)
We have a keen eye for detail, and our obsessive hunt for perfect English
grammar makes us the ideal scrutinizers of your work.
What results will you get from proofreading?
There is one reason why your work must be proofread for accuracy:
PROFIT.
A visitor's first impression of your web page is the impression that will
last in his or her mind long after departing the site. If the basics are
flawed, you have much less chance of gaining or retaining a customer.
Good proofreading will help:
• Inform your clients
• Sell your product or service
• Make you a profit
"Proofreading" does not include re-writing or changing the way
you have written your copy. However if the copy does require re-writing
or other significant changes, we can advise you of the best approach to
take.
We do offer a copywriting, editing service, which involves
a more in-depth editing process. This process includes examining and adjusting
the structural organization of the text. Upon completion of proofreading,
you receive your updated document in MS Word format. Using the in-built
facilities in MS Word, you are able to view three versions of the document.
1. The original version.
2. The original version with all changes made clearly marked.
3. The proofread version, with all changes incorporated into the text.
This version is ready to be used.
Can't I proofread my copy myself?
Unfortunately for all of us proofreading our own work can be very difficult,
and in some cases, pointless. This is because the same mental processes
that went into composition are the ones you will use to correct your work.
However, when a proofreader examines your work the fresh eyes and impartial
knowledge of English result in a prime editing environment. This is the
only sure way to guarantee the grammatical accuracy of your work.
What will the proofreading cost me?
alterlingua offers 'basic' proofreading at 3 cents per word. This includes
the detection and correction of all spelling, grammar, punctuation and
inconsistencies in the text. A minimum fee of $15 applies.
A 'basic polish' includes all of the above, and also incorporates sentence
structure correction. This service is charged at 4 cents per word.
'Technical proofreading', which involves detailed analysis and correction
of errors in technical documents (including verification of technical
terms), is charged at 8 cents per word.
Let us show you how we can make these promises: how we deliver quality,
how we deliver on time, why our company represents value for your money
and how much experience we are able to bring to bear on each translation.
Our goal is to show you that alterlingua is a translation expert that
you can trust.
